Arsenal look set to hijack Real Madrid’s deal for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva after agreeing a fee to sign him, according to reports.
Madrid had looked certain to sign Silva in the coming weeks with talks underway with his club Cruzeiro, but they are yet to agree on a price.
And now Marca says Arsenal have stormed in and had a £11.9million offer accepted, and look set to tie up the transfer.
Madrid have only offered about £9million to date but are desperate to do business and even allocated Silva the shirt number 16 for January.
Silva, 21, has been dubbed the new Kaka.
